Scholarship

Friends Charities seeks to provide scholarships of at least $500 to qualifying high school students pursuing STEM related degrees in higher education. These funds will be provided directly to the school at which the student has been accepted and plans to attend. In order to qualify for a scholarship from Friends Charities, applying students must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduating high school senior planning to attend a four-year college/university
  • Holding a minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Enrolled in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) related major
  • Submission of a 500 word essay on the following:
    • Plans for their chosen major
    • Why they should be selected to receive this scholarship
    • How they will pass on the knowledge and experience they gain to benefit others
  • Volunteer of a minimum 15 hours of community service

    • Students are free to continue meeting with and receiving mentorship support from members
  • Achieve a 3.0 or above grade for all STEM classes in which the student is enrolled
